Maintain a healthy lifestyle (through the festivities) the 'Masaba' way

Maintain a healthy lifestyle (through the festivities) the 'Masaba' way

Fun and frolic goes without saying - especially around Diwali. You’re trying super hard to maintain a healthy routine through it all, but it’s tough and we know it! Here are a few things that you can try to adhere to, and maybe it’ll help you get back to the grind.

Water is your best friend

Very much like our planet (that’s 71% water) the human body is 55% water. For your skin, hair, and nails to be in its top form during the festivities, you must make it a point to consume 3.5-4 l. water on a daily basis. Keep a mini bottle with you through your parties & visits so that you don’t go ‘waterless’ for too long.

Keep it moving

Movement is essential. Try to get at least 15 minutes of exercise in your day; this can be zumba, yoga, a jog or even cycling. This will also make sure you’re still in the groove. Complete absence of movement leads to lethargy which can also lead to you missing out on your work out post the festivities.

Baked, roasted, grilled, or barbequed

Festive treats are not to be missed! Obviously all the gulab jamun and chakli is to be savoured, but did you know that some delicacies like ‘shakkar para’ can be baked instead of fried?! Checkout cool recipes like that on the web that could be a saviour! One such recipe is Masaba’s Metabolism Boosting Ladoos made from almond flour, jaggery and all things nice, to satiate your sugar-cravings without increasing your calorie-intake tremendously. Whenever possible, also try to look for baked, roasted, grilled or barbequed food items to snack on.

Sleep is #1

Yes, there will be parties that’ll begin at 8pm and never end! To compensate for such fun nights, it’s important to sleep at a normal time (i.e. around 11pm) when there are no such plans. Sleeping is called ‘beauty sleep’ for a reason! 7-8 hours of good quality sleep ensures brighter, less puffy eyes, a glowing complexion, healthier hair, and faster healing skin (in case of redness and inflammation.)

Cleanse thoroughly

Festivities are all about trying trending looks and experimenting with new makeup products that you hoarded on! Hence, it’s super crucial to stick to your cleansing routine to get all of the toxins off your skin. The dead skin cells and excess oil build-up that’s caused with leftover makeup can create unwanted debris. Cleansing helps remove this and allows a clean palette for other skincare products that follow thereafter.

Stick to your sched

The one, and the only thing that’s going to keep you fit and healthy in spite of the high-carb (and toxin-rich festivities is if you stick to your daily regime even through the parties and celebrations. Sip on your health-drink first thing in the morning, get in some exercise at your decided hour, try to follow your nutritionist’s advice.
